Botox: Forehead Wrinkles? No Problem!
Filed in archive Botox on March 27, 2010

© Beverly & PackThousands of people each year, mostly women, seek Botox injections, considered a cosmetic surgery procedure, to smooth away the deep forehead furrows and strong vertical lines on the face between the brows called glabellar lines.
Botox, also called Botulinum toxin, works directly where it's injected, allowing precise manipulation of how the facial muscles work, but also dictating your future ability to facially express yourself. Botox can also be used to treat abnormal head position and neck pain associated with cervical dystonia (CD) in adults, and can be used beneficially in the treatment of certain types of eye muscle problems or abnormal eyelid spasms (blepharospasm) in people 12 and older.
Another interesting use of the Botulinum toxin is in the treatment of severe underarm sweating when topical medications are ineffective.
With the widespread use and acceptance of Botox injections as a less invasive alternative to other plastic or cosmetic surgery procedures, people tend to overlook the risks associated with injecting what essentially is a poison into an otherwise healthy body.
In the next post we'll delve into the risks and complications associated with Botox injections, and in future posts we'll look into the other "injectables" that cosmetic surgery has to offer to those who are willing to risk trading their health for better self esteem, and possibly better quality of life.
